Bulgaria is going to become an effective member of NATO Maintenance and Supply Organization (NAMSO) on January 1, 2005, Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Friday.
The Council of Ministers adopted the decision for Bulgaria's membership in NAMSO in the end of November. So far Bulgaria has been with a status of an observer in this organization.
The tasks of the organization are related to the material and technical supply of weapons systems and military technology, aiming at enhancing the efficiency of non-combatant maintenance and making economies through common efforts in supply, maintenance, calibration, delivery, transport, technical maintenance, engineering and configuration management.
Becoming a member of NAMSO Bulgaria will receive an access to all the services, provided by NAMSO and its Maintenance and Supply Agency (NAMSA) when acquiring new arms and equipment.
Bulgarian citizens will also be allowed to apply for a job in the NAMSO structures from January 1, 2005. |
